Who does not dream of using a time machine, once in a while? Either as a customized sportscar by the name of DeLorean with a flux capacitor or as a living history phone booth with guaranteed success in the human history examinations. Science fiction creates the most bizarre forms for time machines and science builds the biggest: for instance "The Large Hadron Collider" in Cern, which accelerates particles to nearly the speed of light and, thanks to Einstein, let's them theoretically travel to the near future.
Beeing able to travel to the future seems to be proven. But according to the current state of knowledge there is no way to travel back in time, or is there? In the session I want to turn our conception of time travel upside down and, with a blinking eye, give a construction manual for building a time machine yourself. Everybody can build a time machine. We just have to start today to have a look at the past tomorrow.

The company Förde Garnelen produces tropical king prawns in made in Kiel. The seawater directly from the Baltic Sea, is heated with waste heat up to tropical 28°C, so that the prawns reach their market weight of about 30 grams within half a year. A new technology circulates the seawater to clean it continuously. The excrements of the prawns are used for a bioenergy plant which produces heat and electricity. This material and energy cycle ensure an environmentally friendly and sustainable production. The fed consists with a large part of vegetable ingredients.
The White Tiger prawn is native in the Pacific coast of South and Central America. For the production we use exclusively prawns from artificial reproduction. The prawns grow at constantly conditions throughout the year. The environmental parameters are optimized to the requirements of prawn. No medications are used. For the customers, the prawn are caught immediately after receipt of the order and packed in sealed plastic trays without any use of additives. The prawns will be refrigerated in thermal boxes and freshly delivered by an express delivery inside Germany. What is ordered until 12 o'clock, arrives at the customer until 12 o'clock the next day.
After the Session, Förde Garnelen invite to try out the taste of the White Tiger Prawns made in Kiel at the Harbour Area at 1 pm.
You will be tackling the challenge “How might we work in the future?” together with Birte and Franziska from Team Marzavan. This short introduction in Design Thinking and New Work wants to reveal what this buzzword really means for you personally. How is IoT, agility, industry 4.0, and technical progression affecting your working environment? What does it do to your working behaviour or to your perception of work? Plus, where does work end and your private life start? Do we still need this division after all?
With this “New Work Challenge” we want you to start thinking about your own situation and want you to experiment with possible pains, gains, needs and solutions.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you! This session is open to everyone who has previous knowledge or experiences with managing a coworking space or is a heavy user of one (this is a stakeholder-workshop). Together with you, Franziska and Birte from Team Marzavan want to work on understanding how a coworking space needs to be managed in a good way and what it needs to be able to build a strong community with its members. We will design the role of a Coworking Manager and get an understanding about its challenges. We will establish empathy with the people in these roles and understand what qualities and assets they need.
On top of that, we will work on how to help coworking managers to do an even better job by educating themselves.
We are very much looking forward to tackle this challenge together with you!The aim of this interactive session is to give entrepreneurs an overview on how to proactively define SMART targets as part of their business & life goal setting process. We will work with YOUR examples, so please be ready to share and participate :)
At Hufsy we believe in people and their great ideas. We also believe that business banking is outdated and that’s why we want to change it. Hufsy is a banking platform and financial tool for startups, developed by a startup. We know the pain of handling finances, doing accounting and reporting tax, which is why we believe we can do it better than the traditional banks. We want to help startups, focus more on what makes their heart tick and less on banking.
You wanna know how we do it? Do you want to be a part of creating the future business bank account?
We would like to show you what we are working on and even more: get your input and feedback on the Hufsy platform. During the workshop you will be able to test and access Hufsy. We will explain about our approach and you can tell us, what the financial platform of your dreams need to have.
When we talk to people about Design Thinking they usually answer "Oh yes - Design Thinking - that's about becoming more creative!" While that perception is partially right, it still misses the biggest part of Design Thinking and reduces it to the seemingly easiest part. So what is it really about?
Design Thinking is about:
Understanding the challenge of complex projects
Creating a shared vision for project teams
Learning to deal with ambiguity
Using iteration as a way to fail forward
Empathy for the people involved
...and becoming more creative
Sounds like a load full of new concepts to learn? Too much for your busy schedule?
gezeitenraum has developed a "High Performance Design Thinking" Format - spend 45 minutes filled with fun and speed and be surprised how much you can achieve in such a short time.
Experience how Design Thinking feels and create your own understanding of what the "Hype" is about.
As Einstein put it: “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on it, I would use the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.”
Our news environment is changing. More and more people are using social platforms to access news. Personalization and machine-driven algorithms are on the rise. Yet, it is often overlooked that these developments also have a dark side to them: As we grow more connected, we also increasingly become more isolated. More and more, we see only what our circle of friends like and recommend and in turn we are caught in a vicious circle of self-confirmation. Oftentimes without us even noticing, our image of the world is growing increasingly biased. What can we do to make it less biased? Are we really in a filter bubble? And how can we tell?
As young journalists and founders of the online platform thebuzzard.org, the two speakers, Felix Friedrich and Dario Nassal, have been working to support media diversity for several years. If you are enthusiastic about trends in journalism and wonder what to do as a reader to get out of your respective filter bubble, come and join our session. We show you practical approaches and give you in-depth takeaways:

It is a combination of trailer, caravan and yacht in one.
High quality and aesthetics of boat-building are combined with the flexibility of a mobile home that results in a dynamic and modern product.
The SEALANDER is an innovative lightweight vehicle that is a custom-made caravan in the first place, but with the help of a few handles and an outboard engine it turns into an a swimming place for relaxation.
There is no special license needed to operate the SEALANDER.

There are several features that will make your sailing even more enjoyable – a convertible sunroof, a telescopic element that can be used as a swim ladder, and a stainless steel handrail to ensure safe boarding.

The wide windows enable a great view on land and seascapes.
